Sergei Shipov (born April 17, 1966 in Murom) is a Russian chess grandmaster with a peak FIDE rating of 2662 (#23 in the world on the January 1999 list), chess journalist and author. He is the man behind the popular chess-website crestbook.com,^[1] where, among other services, he provides online-comments to current chess events. His handle on the Internet Chess Club is "Crest" (Russian prononciation of "Крест" = Cross).
